Machine Learning meets Human Service at the Nike Innovation Lab
About
2 minutes of running on a treadmill and being filmed by 6 cameras creates full video of a runner. The video is then run through Nike's 40 years of research data & machine learning system to create a personalized view and recommendations to individual runners that will help them prevent injury and improve performance. The digital service is paired with an in-person consult from a sport scientist to create a unique digital + in-person experience.
Situation Bear designed the end to end athlete experience.

Challenge
One of the most commercial companies in the world needed to build trust with runners, women and new runners in particular. NSRL Form is an altruistic project out to help funners improve performance and prevent injury. The challenge was building trust with those new to machine learning & making themselves vulnerable to be recorded.
“Nike has the unique ability to know the whole athlete. NSRL Form is expansive. The tools we develop study the entire human body as one complete unit. With a tool like this, we can bring the insights of the NSRL outside of our walls, to all athletes.” - Kathleen Poe, Director
